CLOVIS, N.M. – Dominick Sena, 20, of Clovis has been sentenced to six years in the New Mexico Department of Corrections, followed by one year of supervised parole, after being convicted of two counts of Making a Shooting Threat, a Fourth Degree Felony under New Mexico law.
District Attorney, Quentin Ray, emphasized the gravity of the offense, stating, “Threats of gun violence are not idle words — they terrorize families and disrupt our community. The District Attorney’s Office remains committed to protecting victims and the community from acts of intimidation and potential gun violence.”
The conviction stems from a November 21, 2025, incident in which Clovis Police Department responded to a report of a series of escalating shooting threats made by Sena toward a 19-year-old victim and her family. Officers reviewed messages in which Sena told the victim and her family to “just wait”, stated he would come to the residence with others, and made threats to shoot the victim and individuals inside the home.
The investigation revealed that Sena, who was on probation, also referenced access to firearms including a Glock-style handgun and other high-caliber weapons, heightening the concern for public safety.
Special Prosecutor Brett Carter tried the case. Sena was represented by Dallas Alfaro of the Law Office of the Public Defender.
