Clovis, NM – The District Attorney’s Office is proud to share a newly refreshed conference room in its Victim Services Department, thoughtfully designed to support child victims of crime and their families with comfort, care, and dignity.
Meeting with prosecutors and staff can be an emotional and difficult experience for victims and their loved ones, especially for children. The newly reimagined space helps ease that burden by creating a more supportive, calming environment during what are often very challenging conversations.
The transformed space was made possible through partnership with the UNM Early Childhood Services Center and Paloma’s Play Corner, whose vision and dedication brought this space to life. It now offers a warm, inviting setting where children can feel safe and supported with engaging, developmentally appropriate play and learning materials, that help ease stress and encourage connection during meetings.
Paloma’s Play Corner is part of a broader statewide effort to bring child-friendly, inclusive spaces into agencies that serve families, helping ensure every child feels seen, supported, and welcome.
Victim-Witness Administrator, Miranda Gonzales, stated, “We want to extend our sincere thank you to UNM and Paloma’s Play Corner for transforming this space into a more inviting, safe, and nurturing area for the children we serve in our communities.”
