David Brown sentenced to 4 years in Prison for Drug Trafficking

Clovis, NM – Ninth Judicial District Attorney, Quentin Ray, announced that David Brown, age 53, of Clovis, was found guilty on March 22, 2024, by a Curry County jury of Trafficking a Controlled Substance, a Second-Degree Felony. 

On January 25, 2023, Officers from the Adult Probation and Parole Office conducted a home visit to one of their clients at a local hotel.  APO Officers along with the Clovis Police Department found 10 grams of methamphetamines, black tar heroin, Xanex and fentanyl pills. 

David Brown was arrested and taken into custody.

The Honorable Fred Van Soelen presided over the sentencing on April 24th and found Brown to be a habitual offender having been convicted of 2 prior felonies in the last 10 years. This added a mandatory 4 year jail sentence.  In total, Brown was sentenced to the mandatory 4 years in the Department of Corrections with the remaining 9 years of the sentence all suspended in favor of 5 years supervised probation.
