CLOVIS, N.M. – Ninth Judicial District Attorney Quentin Ray announced today that a Curry County jury has convicted Bronson Arington, 36, of Receipt, Transportation or Possession of a Firearm or Destructive Device by a Felon and Unlawful Carrying of a Deadly Weapon following a jury trial held on November 14, 2025.
The case arose from events on March 23, 2025, when deputies with the Curry County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports that Arington had brandished a firearm at two individuals on Hidalgo Road. Witnesses stated that Arington approached their vehicle, produced a handgun, and pointed it in their direction before leaving the area in a black Ford F-150. Additional witnesses also reported seeing Arington armed with a firearm that same day.
Deputies later located Arington at a residence on South Prince. After initially refusing to comply with commands, he was taken into custody. A loaded handgun was recovered from his pocket.
Arington’s sentencing will be held at a later date before District Court Judge Drew Tatum.
Deputy District Attorney Brittany Hudson tried the case. Arington was represented by Sandra Gallagher of the Law Office of the Public Defender.
