Meth Dealing Brothers Both Behind Bars

Portales, NM – Ninth Judicial District Attorney, Andrea Reeb, announced today that Ramon Lozano, age 60, of Portales, NM, was sentenced to nine years in prison for drug trafficking.

On August 20, 2021, Ramon Lozano was found guilty by a Roosevelt County jury of Trafficking Methamphetamine, a second degree felony;

The charges stem from June 6, 2018, when the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s office served a search warrant at the residence of 1600 S Globe, Portales, NM, upon the execution of the search warrant the deputies located Ramon Lozano with over $7,800.00 of methamphetamine and his brother Ruben Lozano with over $6,000.00 of methamphetamine. Ruben Lozano was previously found guilty by a jury and is serving his sentence in the Department of Corrections.

The Honorable Donna J. Mowrer presided over the hearing and sentenced Lozano to the maximum of 9 years in the New Mexico Department of Corrections.   

Deputy District Attorney, Quentin Ray prosecuted the case for the State and criminal defense attorney, Ralph Dowden, of Clovis, represented Lozano.
