Clovis, NM - Ninth Judicial District Attorney, Andrea Reeb, announced that today a jury convicted Josett Anaya, age 36, of Clovis, of her 4th DWI, a fourth degree felony.
On July 6th, 2018, Clovis Police stopped Anaya for having expired vehicle registration. After conducting standardized field sobriety tests and determining impairment, Anaya consented to a breath sample, which resulted in her alcohol content to be .09 which is over the limit.
Anaya was previously convicted of DWI's in 2003, 2005, and 2008, all in Curry County, NM. She faces a maximum of eighteen months in the Department of Corrections, six months being mandatory.
Lara Maierhofer, Assistant District Attorney prosecuted the case for the State. Anaya was represented by Jeremiah Hall, Assistant Public Defender.
