Clovis, NM – Ninth Judicial District Attorney, Andrea Reeb, announced that on January 24, 2019, Jon Hausmann, age 38, of Clovis, was sentenced for his role in harboring jail escapees.
On June 15, 2018, three men escaped from the Curry County Detention Center. On June 19, 2018, law enforcement received a tip that the three escapees were at the residence on the west side of Clovis. After a three-hour standoff, the three were taken into custody and Hausmann was charged with Harboring or Aiding a Felon.
The Honorable Drew D. Tatum presided over the plea hearing and sentenced Hausmann to a total of five and one-half years in the New Mexico Department of Corrections. The term includes a four year enhancement under the habitual offender statute.
Brian Scott Stover, Chief Deputy District Attorney, prosecuted the case for the State. The defendant was represented by criminal defense attorney, Pilar Murray, of Albuquerque.
