Clovis NM – Ninth Judicial District Attorney Andrea Reeb announced that her office presented a check for over $8,000 to the Hartley House today. Monies were raised from the 6th Annual Fun Run/Walk that the DA’s Office held on April 14, 2018.
During National Crime Victim’s Week, April 8 – 14, 2018, the DA’s office also held a paper goods drive and canned food drive. The goods collected and the funds raised from the week’s events were designated to benefit the Hartley House of Clovis. The Hartley House is a non-profit organization that provides a shelter for survivors and children of domestic violence, a 24 hour crisis hotline, and support groups. These services are available for the Clovis, Portales and Tucumcari areas.
Since 1981, National Crime Victims’ Rights Week is celebrated every year in April. This week is dedicated to learn about victimization, the effect victimization has on individuals, families, friends and the community, and to promote laws, policies and programs to help victims of crime.
District Attorney Andrea Reeb stated, "This was our most financially successful color run to date. Last year we raised around $4000 for the Hartley House and we doubled the amount to over $8000 this year. The Hartley House does so much for our community and surrounding communities across the state. We hope this donation will benefit their cause and help victims in our area. The District Attorney's office has always tried to be proactive in supporting these great organizations that we are fortunate enough to work with on a daily basis."
