Judge Rules Taylors Eligible for Bond

August 4, 2017

Clovis, NM – Ninth Judicial District Attorney, Andrea Reeb, announced that today Roosevelt County District Judge, Donna J. Mowrer, ordered that Mary Taylor, age 62, of Portales NM; and Sandi Taylor, age 31, of Portales, NM; are eligible “to post a $100,000.00 cash/surety/10% bond and be released pending trial.”  Special conditions of release also apply.

The Taylors were indicted today on charges of First Degree Child Abuse Resulting in Death and First Degree Child Abuse Resulting in Great Bodily Harm.  The first degree felonies each carry a maximum punishment of 18 years in prison.

District Attorney Andrea Reeb stated, “While I’m disappointed the Judge did not hold the Taylor's without bond, I understand and respect the Court’s ruling."  Reeb continued, “At this point, the State will begin preparing these cases for trial and hope to get these matters to jury trial swiftly and obtain justice for Maliyah, Aubriauna and their families."
