Clovis NM – Ninth Judicial District Attorney, Andrea Reeb, announced that yesterday, a Curry County jury found Devin Branch, age 32, of Clovis, guilty of Trafficking Controlled Substances.
The charge stemmed from an undercover drug operation by the Region V Drug Task force in December of 2015. Branch was taken into immediate custody and search warrants were executed on the vehicles. 84.4 grams of cocaine were seized.
The Honorable Fred Van Soelen presided over the one-day trial. The jury heard testimony from Clovis Police Officers and an expert in drug analysis from the New Mexico Department of Public Safety Crime Lab. Judge Van Soelen postponed sentencing to a later date. Branch faces 10 years in prison which includes a one-year enhancement for a prior felony conviction.
Assistant District Attorneys Kristen Beltran and Alexander Vang prosecuted the case for the State and Benjamin Herrmann represented Branch.
