Portales NM – Ninth Judicial District Attorney, Andrea Reeb, announced that Gustav Jimenez, age 34, of Portales, NM, was sentenced on October 6, 2016, to serve 16 ½ years in prison for a rash of burglaries that occurred in Roosevelt county during January of this year.
Jimenez was apprehended on January 7, 2016, after a high speed pursuit by Roosevelt County Sheriff’s deputies. Jimenez was injured after the stolen vehicle he was driving crashed. He was treated and released to the Roosevelt County Detention Center.
The Honorable Donna J. Mowrer presided over the plea hearing yesterday, which included numerous cases from Clovis and Portales. He pleaded no contest to Aggravated Fleeing Law Enforcement, Aggravated Burglary, 3 counts of Burglary, and Unlawful Taking of a Motor Vehicle.
Deputy District Attorney Jake Boazman, is the prosecuting attorney for the State of New Mexico. Criminal Defense Attorney Mickie Patterson represented Jimenez.
