Glen Mayfield Convicted For Drug Trafficking

April 20, 2016

Clovis, NM - Ninth Judicial District Attorney Andrea Reeb announced that Glen Mayfield, age 54, of Clovis, was found guilty by a Curry County jury of Trafficking Cocaine, a first degree felony; and Possession of Methamphetamine, a fourth degree felony.  The jury heard testimony this morning from two law enforcement officers and a forensic scientist from the NM State Crime Lab.  They returned their guilty verdicts this afternoon after deliberating for approximately one hour.

In November of 2015, agents from the Region V Drug Task Force confiscated cocaine and methamphetamine after a search warrant was served on Mayfield’s residence in Clovis.

The Honorable Fred Van Soelen presided over the one-day trial and Assistant District Attorney Stephen D. Ralph prosecuted the case for the State of New Mexico. Assistant Public Defender, Sarah Field represented the defendant.

Judge Van Soelen ordered that sentencing be held at a later date.  Mayfield, who has a previous felony drug conviction, faces a maximum sentence of twenty and one-half years in prison.
